Pain & Discomfort • Pelvic Floor Changes • Core Weakness • Everyday Movement • Recovery Confidence

You don’t have to wait 6 weeks

The early weeks after having a baby are filled with incredible change — physically, emotionally, and mentally. While you’re learning how to care for your newborn, it’s easy to feel disconnected from your own body or unsure of what is “normal” during recovery. Many moms feel unsure about movement, lifting, exercise, or whether the changes they’re experiencing are normal.

Leaving home with a newborn can feel overwhelming, which is why postpartum support should come to you. This in-home visit brings expert support, helping you reconnect with your body, move safely, and build confidence in your recovery while caring for your baby.

FAQ: Top Questions About At-Home Postpartum Care

How long is a postpartum home visit?

Your postpartum home care visit typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes. We know life with a newborn rarely follows a perfect schedule, so there is plenty of flexibility for feeding, diaper changes, soothing, and whatever your baby needs during your visit.

When should I schedule my postpartum home visit?

Postpartum home visits are designed for the early stages of recovery, typically 1 to 6 weeks after birth, but support can continue beyond that timeframe based on your needs.

If you are looking for postpartum physical therapy in Oakland County, MI, you can schedule your visit after your baby is born by calling (248) 266-5778 or emailing cecily@resilienceptandpilates.com.

Why choose a postpartum home visit instead of going to a clinic?

The first few weeks after having a baby can be physically and emotionally demanding. Packing up a newborn and traveling to another appointment may be the last thing you want to do while recovering.

With postpartum care in your own Oakland County home, we can see how your body is moving where everyday life is actually happening. That includes getting in and out of bed, feeding your baby, lifting and carrying, navigating stairs, and finding comfortable positions throughout the day.
